Dubai hotels were among the busiest in the world in the first half of 2022, according to a new tourism report.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, took to social media to share Dubai’s latest achievement, which showed that hotel occupancy in the emirate was on average 74% during the months of January to June. Not only is this a 12% year-over-year increase, but Dubai’s hotel occupancy rate is also among the highest in the world.

According to the report published by the Department of Economy and Tourism, the highest occupancy rate was for hotel apartments, where the average occupancy rate was 79% for standard hotel apartments and 78% for hotel apartments. luxury hotel apartments. The occupancy rate for one-, two- and three-star hotels averaged 73%, while four- and five-star hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 72% in the first half of 2022.

The report also showed the growth that has taken place in the hospitality sector over the past year, from 718 hotels and serviced apartments in Dubai in June 2021 to 773 at the end of June 2022.

There has also been significant growth in visitor numbers as Dubai continues to establish itself as one of the best cities in the world. In the first half of 2022, Dubai welcomed 7.1 million international visitors, an increase of 183% compared to the first half of 2021. Visitors were mainly from India, but other main source markets included Oman, Saudi Arabia , the United Kingdom and Russia.
