Reviews about Staycation: SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences

Does SLS Dubai live up to its expectations?

SLS Dubai is unlikely to have eluded you. The 75-story hotel debuted in Dubai in April and has been around the world ever since, thanks to its soaring infinity pool, larger-than-life brand personality, and restaurants that don’t know the meaning of a ” slow night “.

The location

The location of the hotel has divided public opinion, with some believing the location of Business Bay to be difficult to access. In fact, the hotel is easy to get to – if you are coming from Al Khail Road – and it is also easy to visit nearby tourist sites (Dubai Mall, DIFC, Dubai Opera, etc. ).

The look and feel

When you arrive, the vast stained-glass window at the back of the reception area sets the tone for the brand. SLS is a lifestyle concept, with fun injected throughout its decor, with animals characterized as a masked monkey, giant rubber duck, and ladybugs scattered throughout the hotel.

The lobby is located on the 71st floor, so we slip into the artfully designed elevator and when the doors separate we are greeted with a breathtaking view of the city. A ruby check-in counter distracts us from the huge windows and the fun begins.

The rooms

Our room is full of character, with a huge balcony terrace and outdoor seating overlooking the Dubai Design District. Views are a recurring theme throughout the hotel, and even the bathroom has floor-to-ceiling windows so we can bathe with a view of Burj Khalifa. There is plenty of space, with a huge pink bed in the center of the stage and a sofa accompanied by a marble coffee table – we would feel right at home, if our house were this chic.

The installations

Ciel Spa is a haven of comfort, with a huge plunge pool in the relaxation area and plenty of lounge chairs on the 69th floor terrace. A variety of treatment packages are available, including a Sip & Glow offer that includes a rejuvenating mask and a glass of sparkling to get you into the staycation spirit.

Despite the strong winds on the day of our visit, the pool at the top of SLS Dubai is something very special. With stunning views of the tallest building in the world, the spot has taken Instagram by storm, for good reason. We position ourselves on a daybed and enjoy the catchy tunes throughout the day.

Food and drink

Carna and Fi’lia restaurants are often forbidden to What’s new, and a stay at SLS Dubai is the perfect opportunity to try them out. The former is a stellar steakhouse with breathtaking views of Dubai, while the latter offers fine Italian cuisine with that home-cooked feel (and even more breathtaking views). For a late-night party vibe, we stop by the S Bar, where a resident DJ kicks Dubai’s who’s who into the early hours of the morning.

Room rates

In September, room rates start from DH 680 for a king room with balcony, plus taxes and fees. There is a wide range of room types available, from studios to one bedroom apartments and duplex suites, depending on your budget.
